What is penta?
Penta is a craft energy drink whose main ingredient is natural energy ingredients extracted from food ingredients.
With the keywords of brain activation, refreshment, and awakening in mind, we offer "healthy" craft energy drinks that can be consumed every day, based on an original blend of energy syrup that makes use of the benefits of carefully selected natural ingredients such as galangal and hops, which are attracting attention as new health ingredients.

Our Mission
Our mission is broadly divided into two parts.
One is to provide real energy drinks to many people.
The other is that the distribution of the drink does not put a strain on the environment.
The spread of next-generation energy drinks
Drinking drinks full of additives is not good for your body.
In particular, artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, sucralose, acesulfame K, etc. are said to have various adverse effects, such as dulling the sense of taste, being addictive, affecting intestinal bacteria, increasing the risk of depression, declining kidney function, and increasing the risk of stroke and myocardial infarction.
penta® does not contain any of these substances, making it a product that is gentle on the body and can be drunk with peace of mind, while still giving you the energy you need to work hard at your daily work or studies.
Our goal is to provide healthy drinks to as many people as possible.
Caring for the planet
The containers used for penta® are made only from recyclable and reusable materials: bottles and cans.
In order to eliminate food waste caused by mass production, we outsource production and sales to only the amount we need. At penta®, we have never had to throw away a single unsold bottle or can.
More than 70% of bottles and 90% of cans are recycled after being thrown away as garbage. We try to avoid using plastic products as much as possible for the paper, labels, packaging and cushioning materials we use, and use materials that have a low environmental impact, in an effort to be environmentally conscious.
Story
I was originally a creator working in the web business. I used to drink energy drinks myself, and while they helped me in many situations, I was concerned about the effect they had on my health, such as the fact that their effect was only momentary, and the subsequent fatigue, irritability, and dependency. I wanted something that was gentler on the body and had the same effects as an energy drink, so I started my challenge to create a new genre of "energy drinks that you can drink with confidence."
First, I started by learning about energy drinks: what happens to your body when you drink them, what ingredients they contain, and what effects they have on your body. As I learned that energy drinks originated from drinks that use spices and herbs, like cola and root beer, and how to incorporate them into your diet, I came across the idea of "medicinal cuisine."
When people hear the term "medicinal cuisine," many of them may imagine something that is somehow good for the body but tastes bad. However, medicinal cuisine is actually the simple idea of eating ingredients that suit the season, your constitution, and your physical condition.
It's cold today, so let's eat a meal that will warm the body using ginger; this alone can be considered medicinal food.
We then welcomed a staff member who is an international herbalist to our team and began developing original drinks based on the principles of herbal medicine.
From the beginning, we never considered using artificial sweeteners or ingredients such as caffeine.
If we were to make something, it had to be something that was thoroughly healthy and environmentally friendly. What we absolutely could not compromise on was that it had to be "delicious, something that you would want to drink every day."
After trying various ingredients, we finally arrived at the answer: galangal.
Galangal is a popular ingredient in Thailand and is a member of the ginger family that is used in dishes such as Tom Yum Goong.
This is a caffeine-free food ingredient that has been shown to have an awakening effect, improve concentration, and support the effects of caffeine.
Galangal has also been used as a traditional medicine for a long time and is said to be effective against digestive disorders and allergies. Furthermore, previous research has reported that ACA may have anti-cancer and anti-obesity effects, as well as cognitive function improving effects.

After much trial and error, it took a year to perfect penta®'s original recipe.
In August 2022, we opened a craft energy drink specialty store called "penta Herbal Medicine Energy" in Sendagaya, Shibuya Ward. Until it closed in April 2024, many people who visited the store and through exhibiting at events and exhibitions had us say "it's delicious!"
In the future, we aim to develop products that can be distributed so that more people can get their hands on penta®, and to bring to market a product that people will want and that will become the new standard for energy drinks.
